After your treatment

After your treatment, you should be able to continue your day-to-day life without disruption.

After your treatment

Be sure to follow the specific advice given to you by your clinic, which is likely to include some important recommendations.

There is different advice for looking after yourself depending on whether you have been treated with dermal fillers or anti-wrinkle injections.

With fillers, avoid massaging or putting extreme pressure on the treatment area for at least 24 hours. You should also avoid extended exposure to the sun, UV light and extreme temperatures for two weeks. It's also recommended that you don't apply make-up for 12 hours after treatment and that you have your treatment reviewed two to four weeks later.

There are fewer restrictions when it comes to anti-wrinkle treatments. For at least four hours after your treatment, avoid rubbing or massaging the treated area, and follow any other advice your doctor gives you. It's also recommended with anti-wrinkle injections that you have your treatment reviewed two weeks later.

Maintaining your results

Dermal filler results generally last up to a year, but there are variations between treatment areas and the product used. Anti-wrinkle injections last between three to four months.

Both treatments are temporary and a long-term treatment plan will factor in return visits to maintain the benefits. If you have any questions or concerns about your treatment, you should contact your doctor.
